We are searching for donations of BMX bicycles, parts, and gear for our upcoming season. Our team is expanding from "4" participants to "10', and still growing. The purpose of our program is to allow children the opportunity to participate in BMX competitions, who would normally not be afforded this chance. Our efforts also include getting them out of an inactive lifestyle towards an active lifestyle. This program is to fight issues such as childhood obesity, gang involvement, depression in children, and community distress. Children mostly come from gang and poverty stricken neighborhoods and we feel if we can change the life of just one child, this can continue on to whomever the child interacts with. Gang prevention and preventing the continuance of poverty are what we are fighting for. This is just a start to the various programs we have in operation. The donations will be restored by each participant to teach BMX care and gain skills in designing, mechanics, and painting.
The bicycle the team raced on in the 2013 season are bicycles purchased by my wife and I. My disability and finances can't support the growing response we are recieving from the youth in our neighborhoods.
